Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a common syndrome which involves long term pain in joints, muscles and other soft tissues. The pain is stretched all over the body. - Analgesics – Acetaminophen may ease the pain and stiffness. Tramadol (Ultram) is a prescription pain reliever that may be taken with or without acetaminophen. Non-Steroidal anti-Inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and naproxen are also prescribed.
- Acupuncture – It increase blood flow and production of natural painkillers with thin needles inserted into the skin at strategic points on the body.
- Regular exercise – Exercises such as walking, swimming, lifting low weights, push-ups, resistance bands and aerobics are the best choice for treating fibromyalgia.
- Massage therapy – It can boost muscle repair, blood circulation, range of motion and flexibility. It also boosts the production of natural painkillers called endorphins.
- Physical therapy – Physical therapist can help you make little changes, such as practicing good posture, that help prevent painful flare-ups.
- Meditation and Yoga – It can aid in relieving depression, improve sleep and also reduce pain in the muscles by increasing their stamina.
- Chiropractic treatment – It improves the motion of joints of patients. It reduces pain and may help relieve fibromyalgia symptoms.
- Bio feedback – It can help you control your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing patterns, and muscle tension, potentially reducing pain.
- Healthy diet plan – Eat sufficient amounts of animal proteins and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Butter, coconut, olive oil and avocado are rich sources of natural oils and they should be consumed regularly with other foods.
